Happy New Year, everyone! Thank you for visiting our site and seeking out more information about our awesome opportunities for Windsor Youth!
Please be aware that we have made some structural changes to our program for this new year. We are excited to announce that we have been able to open the program a third evening each week! Wednesdays will now be our “all ages” night (grades 1-8) and Tuesdays and Thursdays will be for youth only (grades 6-8). Children and youth are welcome to drop in during the program hours on Wednesdays but youth are expected to attend the entire program on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is because we are shifting our focus more towards community engagement and will be leaving the house more often! We may not be there if you arrive late! Each month will now revolve around a monthly theme, January being “Homelessness.” See our new “Calendar” page for more information!
Lastly, we have a new phone number for the program! We can be reached during program hours (or leave a voicemail) at 519-915-2188. Mackenzie and Angela can be reached separately outside of program hours at their personal numbers.
We are now looking for volunteers to help facilitate the program on Thursday evenings! Please contact us if you’re interested in getting involved!
Are you interested in getting involved? We are looking to recruit leaders to facilitate youth programs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 4-7pm during the school year. Download our Volunteer Application from the “Get Involved” page and send us an email to let us know you will be joining us on Saturday, August 27th from 1-3pm. Bring your application with you on Recruitment Day and learn how you can help to empower youth and build your community by donating just three hours of your time each week! See you then!
We hope everyone is rocking their crazy socks for World Down Syndrome Day! AYM believes in equal rights, opportunities, and outcomes for everyone!
Do you have an extra yoga mat collecting dust in your closet? We need it!
We’re very excited to have been approached by a volunteer looking to run free empowerment themed yoga classes for children and youth of AYM and STAG! We’re working on getting this class set up to run on a monthly basis (to start) at Sandwich Teen Action Group. For this program, we need gently used yoga mats! Please contact us so we can come pick up!
Stay tuned for more details about the class and the awesome instructor, Sarah Webster!
Our Valentine’s Day Gala on February 12th was a wonderful success! We are extremely grateful to St. Anne’s Parish and Torino’s Banquet Hall for putting on this beautiful event and for choosing our organization as beneficiaries. We also extend our most sincere gratitude to all who attended and sponsored the event. Please see the programme below. The Gala raised over $6,000 each for Iris House and Advocating Young Minds!
AYM now has enough funds to open its program up multiple days per week! We are currently recruiting volunteers to help us run Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-7pm. Please see the “Get Involved” page for more information and to download our brief volunteer application!
Please contact us as soon as possible if you would like to attend or sponsor!
